Held annually since 2004 and celebrated on all continents, it’s a day of worldwide exposure for surfing and a chance to celebrate the sport we all love. The event also encourages an environmentally friendly approach – to life and surf – with organised beach clean-ups and habitat restoration, as well as anti-sewage protests and demonstrations to help keep our waters clean.
This year, just for you lucky people, Ultra Sport has teamed up with Bic Surf to mark the event by offering some brand new surfboards as prizes! Confirming Bic’s commitment to the environment, Bic are a supporter of SAS – Surfers Against Sewage, a UK-based non-profit organisation and a worthy cause working to keep our coastlines free from sewage, toxins, marine litter and nuclear waste. When you purchase a Bic surfboard you can receive free membership to SAS. See www.sas.org.uk for more information and to join.
So, to enter the competition, answer this simple question:
In what year was Bic Sport formed?
a) 1979
b) 1989
c) 1999
You may want to find your way to www.bicsport.com if you’re stuck for an answer. As a tiebreaker, we also want to know, in under 40 words, why you deserve to win a new surfboard. It can be anything – surprise us, be imaginative! Or don’t... Get the answer right and give us any reason and you just might win yourself a new Bic board.
You can find out more about International Surfing Day 2010 at www.intlsurfingday.com
The competition will run from 20th June until 20th August 2010 when we’ll choose a couple of you to win some boards. Send your answers to craig@ultrasporteu.com with the subject title: BIC SURFBOARD COMPETITION.
Good luck!
