Here’s an idea of what’s in store for 2010:

Looking for a sail that’s quick and easy to use, and offers the best way to progress in windsurfing today? Then why not try out the new Nova rig package. If you’re a beginner to intermediate who enjoys leisure sailing on relatively flat water, then this baby is going to be just your ticket to a great summer. This new sail from Bic has been designed with pure simplicity and durability in mind, and is ideally suited with the Nova range of boards, allowing you to learn and progress into the sport of windsurfing without worrying about your equipment! Throughout the world of windsurfing Bic has made a name for offering top quality products, at affordable prices, meaning that it won’t burn a massive hole in your pocket, and you can rest assured that you will be getting top quality gear – keeping you on the water for longer, and out of the repair shop!

The Nova sail has been designed on a fixed mast and boom length, so when you get to the beach all you have to do is thread the mast up the sail, pull the downhaul to the base of the mast, the outhaul to the clew of the boom, and then go sailing – easy!  This means you’ll spend less time on the shore faffing with your kit, and more time actually doing what you love.

The sail is made from tough Dacron, and is well reinforced and super hardwearing, making it great for intensive use. The mast is made with a durable composite construction, while the boom has a minimum number of moveable parts, making it easy to use, lightweight, and durable.

The Nova is aimed at beginner to intermediate windsurfers who want to easily progress in the sport, and is priced from £229 for rig only. For clubs, the Nova offers a tough, versatile rig package for intensive use by learning windsurfers and funboarders, meaning you’ll have reliable equipment that can handle the pressure. A complete package with board starts at around £999. The Nova board is available in 165, 170D (with daggerboard) and 210D.

F2 Launches the 2008 SX Team Edition

The new SX shapes will let the heart of all Slalom friends beat faster! We tried to keep the speed performance of the SX 2007 and improved the jibing ability to get more drive trough and out of the turn. Different deck and rail shape combined with new V-flow and tail geometric makes the SX TE reach this goal and gives it a better overall performance. The new SX TE just fly over the chop, never touches the nose in the water and gives a lot of confidence in the jibes.

Bottom Shape: - F2 standard bottom shape – double concave with side flats running into flat V in the tail. - Increasing V from 100-210 avoids the edges of the bottom from touching the water when going downwind and makes the rail more straight for better carving in the jibes.

Rail Shape: - Thinner nose to have less weight in front of the mast track to get better reaction of the board. - Slightly thicker rail in the tail area to get more drive out of the jibe.

Cutout:
- New cutout geometric keeps the board more stable across the axle and gives also more acceleration out the jibe. Adjustable cutouts: - We reduced the size of the adjustable cutout and have only 2 position possibilities to keep it more simple – “in” the boards stays more stable on the water for control, earlier planing and more drive out the jibe – “out” the board feels more free to get more top speed on all reaches.

Bic Techno 133 Tested by Surf MagazineJune 2007

“On the land... the finish of the rail confirms the origin of the board to be from the ASA mould in France. A ding resistant ASA surface (0,8mm) covers the whole board. Though this production technique was out of fashion for some time, BIC are now coming back with good board weights and modern, compact shapes.

On the water: light and easy under the feet - is this really an ASA board? The current CTS production with carbon reinforced rails feels like a full sandwich construction on the water. The Techno is very lively under the feet and accelerates quickly. In powered up conditions the board speed convinces even good freeriders, and in tight jibes the board sets a new benchmark.

The Techno has convinced us that it is a strong contender in the sportive freeride group, and there is no need to accept any loss in performance with this construction.
