OBRIEN SKIS – JOIN THE ELITE

“This ski really is O’BRIEN’s best yet. Its top quality technology and design make this ski a dream to ride.” – Glenn Campbell, team rider.

Get ready for Summer 2010 with a new line up of O’BRIEN skis. The scientists in the lab and the riders on the water have been working hard to make sure this season’s skis are the best yet. With a massive range of slalom skis -11 in total - you’ll be sure to find the right ski to match your skill level. Just to give you a taster, why not take a look at this beauty of a ski and see what’s in store for this season:

With only a quarter of an inch thickness, the Elite is O’BRIEN’s thinnest ski yet. This tiny width in the tip area allows the carbon fibre to retain ‘energy’ throughout the turn when the front of the ski is loaded. Utilising carbon at the sides of the fore body also takes unnecessary width out of the largest area of the ski whilst, at the same time, maintaining stiffness.

Featuring an Extended Pivot Point, the Elite enables the skier to easily predict the direction and how aggressive they want the edge change to be. The fact that this it the thinnest ski O’BRIEN has ever made means that the drag is considerably reduced when the ski is on the edge.

The 7 degree sidewall angle runs front to tail to create maximum lift and stability, and the 48 degree Bevels in the fore body help to keep the ski up on the water without losing any tracking ability. The Bevels in the rear of the ski are a complete radius, which gives the tail freedom in the rotation of the turn, and at the same time helps to maintain momentum (no parallel stops!!).

The flat spot on the ski (or balance point) is 12” long, but sits further back than most to allow a more central balance point for the skier and a less sensitive ride.  Finally, a semi square tail allows enough forgiveness for the ski under pressure in the turn, yet gives maximum stability off the wakes into an edge change.

The Elite comes in at RRP £1399, and although it’s a pricier ski than most, Team Rider Glenn Campbell says: “This ski really is O’BRIEN’s best yet. Its top quality technology and design make this ski a dream to ride. It really is the best of the best and worth every penny. I would highly recommend the Elite Experience for this season.”

The Slalom line-up from O’BRIEN has never been stronger and has never had so many R&D hours invested in delivering the best skis on the market, so if the Elite isn’t for you, you’ll be sure to find something to meet your needs.  So make sure you get your hands on them before they disappear, as this promises to be one of the best summers yet.
