Definition is run by Gavin Learmonth, former coach to the British World Cup/Olympic Snowboard Team and one of the highest qualified snowboard instructors in Britain. He makes sure to challenge every student to progress their riding, regardless of their level.

The results are in - Drake and Bern rider Billy Morgan's double cork 10 took the gold! And team rider Scott Penman claimed the third spot on the podium in the Brits 2010 Big Air Comp.
What a fantastic result for our sponsored riders at the Brits 2010. The Giro Big Air comp was the most impressive yet, and the sheer height and quality of tricks left spectators gob-smacked. The atmosphere on the slope was competitive but all the riders maintained a good sense of comradery for their fellow competitors. Billy Morgan is one of the newest members of the Ultra Sport team, and rides Drake and Bern. He wowed the crowds in LAAX, Switzerland with his mega top class jumps and it's no surprise that he takes first place on the podium. His first run he went for a steady front five to warm up the crowds and get comfortable on the jump, before hitting us with a massive double back flip on his second innings to guarantee the title in the Big Air Competition. Fellow sponsored rider Scott Penman is also up there, grabbing third position in the British Big Air Championships with another awesome run. A big congratulations to them both from all the team at Ultra Sport. Keep checking the website for more updates from the Brits 2010, or visit www.brits10.com for what's happening at the Brits in Switzerland now.
Smith Optics and Ultra Sport Europe have just announced a new partnership with Maverix Snow Camps.
Maverix have opted for Smith because they believe the technology used in their helmets provides not only a safe and comfortable ride, but also prevents sweaty, smelly headgear that has to be shared between riders.
The company runs snow camps all around the country, as well as in Europe and South America, and one of the issues they have to deal with is passing around hire helmets to their customers, which, they say, is always a bit of a chore: “A wet and smelly florescent helmet is never a great start to a course.”
Pat Neenan, brand manager for Smith at Ultra Sport, says: “Smith has been looking for opportunities to support the wider snowboard and ski community beyond the standard athlete sponsorship for some time. Maverix, with their regular programme of courses across the whole of the UK, is a mobile marketing and demo centre. Riders get to see and test the products on a weekly basis the whole year round. Who wouldn’t want to be a part of that road show?”
The Smith programme at Maverix will begin with the coaches testing the equipment to destruction, and when they’re happy with the results, they will roll out the mobile Smith test centre for all their customers. Maverix says: “It should be a fresh aroma-free spring for many of our customers.”
