The Oxbow Back to Powder 2010 event turned out to be a huge success.
With perfect weather conditions, all those involved had a great time and some of the best backcountry freeriding this season.
The winner for the snowboarding category was Fredrik Evenson (Norway) and for the skiers Arnaud Rougier (France) took the title. Both will go to the Mecca of surf – Hawaii – where they will meet and ride with the Oxbow surf team.
Riders came from all over the world for the 3rd Edition of the Back to Powder event, exploring some of the best backcountry France has to offer.
The week’s competitions involved rail riding, an impromptu back-flip comp organised by rider Lolo Favre, big air – in particular the riders who stood out over the 21m jump were David Livet, Lolo Favre and Fredrik Evensen, pulling off some impressive moves, and let’s not forget the all important backcountry riding in one of the most remote zones of the Arêches-Beaufort ski resort.
