Product reviews for Bic Kayaks - The inflatable of the future
Folded down into a carry bag, they're easy to carry on foot or in the boot of your car, and are fully inflated for use in minutes using a high pressure pump with a pressure gauge. On the water, YakkAir kayaks are simple to steer and deliver excellent performance thanks to the dynamic hull design. Contrary to most inflatable models, you'll be paddling in the dry thanks to the rigid high-pressure floor and the water run offs in the double floor. And paddle comfort has also been improved with the use of a belt backrest as standard. Its smooth glide and excellent sea handling mean you can get away from the shore and go exploring in complete safety.

Bic Yakka 120 explorer
This is a unique kayak in the fact that it folds in half so it is very easy to store and transport in fact it will fit in to most hatchbacks easily the quality of the build is very good and very innovative some brilliant features are incorporated in to this kayak the bottom half of the kayak is made from thermoformed
Polyethylene and the top part is made from rip stop nylon with an inflatable bladder inside it.

Inflating the top half of the kayak takes about 1 minute
And the same to deflate it.

[image]   Seen above with a deluxe seat fitted which is an add on.
There are plenty of bungee cords fitted to the sturdy top half so things can be stored under them like tackle boxes ect .the fittings for the bungee cords are double stitched so they are very strong.
The cockpit area is very spacious note the heal mouldings for foot comfort

Behind the added on deluxe seat you will notice the inflated back rest with this backrest inflated there is no need for the seat we added the seat here so we could use the added rod rests on the seat .
[image]   The long bar is the locking mechanism that locks the 2 halves together it did not get in the way at all when we tested the kayak in fact it is recessed so is no hindrance at all note the quality fittings used for attaching the seat .
[image]   The Yakka 120 also comes in a stunning red color the front bungee cords are in a perfect position for tucking your paddle in to while fishing
[image]   Underneath the yakka you can see the 2 halves and the hull shape
The yakka is 9ft4inches long and 30 inches wide it weighs just 22kg
[image]   A very clever built in wheel is incorporated in to one of the halves note the black rubbing strip which is replaceable should the need arise

The photo below shows the Yakka 120 explorer fully folded and ready to store or transport this is a unique concept that I think is very useful it can easily be stored at the caravan for instance or under the stairs out of the way transporting it is easy as it fits in to most hatchbacks really easily
[image]   The Bic yakka is a unique kayak that incorporates some amazing features the quality is very good and it rides well on the water the secondary stability is amazing it turns and tracks very well and we got up quite a bit of speed in this kayak when we tested it out.
I think it could be the answer to a lot of problems with its fold up design that many of us have had with storage and transporting
The kayak retails at £495 .which is very good value for money with the bic yakka you are getting a lot of quality for your money

The Trinidad
The Trinidad is a kayak purpose-built for leisure. Compact and capable of taking two adults and a child on board,it’s highly versatile and stable, making it suitable for all kinds of situations. For family outings, the ergonomic seats and stability are very reassuring if you happen to travel far from the beach. For serious paddling and
exploring, solo or two-up the Trinidad has a very low-drag hull design and wide rear storage area, useful forgetting where you want, faster! The “Fishing” version has a hull shape and fittings to make sure you always have successful fishing trips. And as a final bonus, the Trinidad can be fitted with a small electric motor to give it even more possibilities!!

The Bilbao
I have used this boat a few times now and love it! So much easier to use than my last sit-on-top. Tracks beautifully whilst still remaining maneuverable and responsive and seems to require a lot less effort to paddle any significant distance! Plenty of room on top to stash my kit for the day without it affecting the stability and even without the backrest I found it a comfy boat to paddle around in all day. All in all, a good all-round Kayak for rivers/lakes and ocean use and there is a fishing version available too which looks pretty cool.

The Ouassou
I have been kayaking recreationally for a few summers now and wanted a relatively cheap, fun Kayak that would be suitable for my 12 year old son to get to grips with. But also something that would do me for playing around in waves or whitewater, as I already have a boat that's suitable for touring or river use. I took a Demo boat out from Yachtmail in Lymington, a Bic Ouassou and was suitably impressed! It's straight line performance left a little to be desired as it was short and quite wide but this meant it was very manouverable and easy to chuck about. In the breakers it was a blast and again was very stable and controllable. My son could even hang off the back and get a tow in, which was fun. Overall it was ideal for what I am after and will be a welcome addition to our small but ever growing collection of boats!
